Get familiarized with the boat and its systems, get settled into your cabin, put on your swimsuit and enjoy the short Sail to Great Harbor in Peter  Island: Which is a great  spot for snorkeling and swimming with turtles and eagle rays and practicing your favorite water sports.  Also, a fantastic anchorage for viewing some gorgeous sunsets.

DAY TWO

Sail from Peter Island  to The Bight, Norman Island. Try your luck fishing on the way. Great snorkeling. Explore The Caves and try out the Sub-Wing in Kelly’s Cove. Enjoy the beach and laid-back atmosphere at Pirate’s Bight and do some Kayaking or Paddle Boarding. This is a great place to have lunch on the beach, check out the all new Willy-T and enjoy some great hicking trails.

cooper Island

DAY THREE

Sail from Norman Island to Cooper Island. In the mid fifties this was a favorite spot for Hollywood stars like Marilyn Monroe, Cary Grant and others. Some of their  beautiful yachts could be seen in Manchioneel Bay through the season.  Enjoy some breathtaking snorkeling in Cistern Point. Visit the micro-brewery, do some high-end rum tasting at the bar and visit the store that carries some beautiful shirts and hats. This is a very good place to have lunch or dinner ashore. Ask Carlos to make a reservation for you ahead of time as the restaurant is not too big, it’s chef is highly regarded and seating is always in high demand.

DAY FOUR

While you are still asleep, Carlos and Maribel will sail ALIZE from Norman Island to The Baths, Virgin Gorda. Have breakfast on arrival, explore the huge granite boulders and swim in the crystalline waters of Devil’s Bay. Sail to North Sound, Virgin Gorda. Pick a mooring in Leverick Bay or anchor in Prickly Pear. This is one of the most stunning anchorages in the Caribbean. Ask Carlos to take you to Oil Nut Bay and explore around Eustatia and Necker Island.  Depending on the wind and sea conditions, Carlos may suggest one of the several snorkeling spots and will organize a full session of your preferred water  sports in this fantastic, large and protected anchorage. It’s one of his favorites!

DAY FIVE

Sail from North Sound to Marina Cay. Pick up a mooring behind the reef and enjoy the breathtaking view. Take a dinghy-hop over to Scrub Island or Trellis Bay. Enjoy some snorkeling in Diamond Reef. Depending on the sea conditions, Carlos might suggest sailing over to Guana Island for an afternoon snorkel in beautiful Monkey Point and to spend the night in the White Bay anchorage.  There are many interesting options close by in this area. Carlos will discuss them with you to make sure you have a great time based on your preferences.

DAY SIX

Sail from Marina Cay to Great Harbor in Jost Van Dyke. These are great fishing grounds, make sure you have a line in the water. Carlos will pick a great mooring for the night and will take you in the dinghy to White Bay, where you will enjoy an unforgettable day of swimming in clear turquoise water, walking in white powdery sand and some of the best cocktail sampling, reggae dancing and people watching in the Caribbean. This is the home of some of the Caribbean’s most famous beach bars, including of course The Soggy Dollar. You will surely want to visit the famous Foxy’s. If you’re lucky you might meet Foxy himself there and have a chance to listen to some of his great songs and Island stories.

Cane Garden Bay Sunset

DAY SEVEN

After breakfast enjoy a short sail from Great Harbor, Jost Van Dyke to Cane Garden Bay, in the north coast of Tortola. Beautiful half-moon shaped protected anchorage with a beautiful beach lined up with palm trees and some of the best beach bars in the Caribbean. This is a great spot for swimming, windsurfing and kayaking. When the north swells are running in the winter the surfers take over the bay and the boaters have to find shelter around Steele Point, in Soper’s Hole. Great places to visit and enjoy are Myett’s, Quitos and Paradise Bar. Depending on the day of the week, there will be live music ashore.

DAY EIGHT

Enjoy one of Maribel’s delicious breakfasts and then set sail from Cane Garden Bay to Soper’s Hole, West End, Tortola. If you enjoy fishing, drop a line, and try your luck with catching a Tuna or a Mahi during the comfortable down wind sail. This is one of the most beautiful and protected anchorages in the Caribbean. It used to be the headquarters for the most renowned pirates of the Caribbean and today it is home to several marinas, charter companies, bars, restaurants and stores that make a lovely and colorful little town. Ask Carlos to take you ashore for some last-minute shopping in the beautiful and colorful stores: Pussers, Arawak and others. Sadly, this is your last port of call before embarking on the water taxi, ferry or plane that will take you back home, where you will share your memories with family and friends and start planning your next memorable sailing vacation with Carlos and Maribel onboard ALIZE.

“It is not that life ashore is distastefull to me. But life at sea is better”.

-Sir Francis Drake

Carlos and Maribel,

This will be a trip that our family remembers forever. Our favorite parts were: snorkeling, watching the amazing sunsets, and everyone of Maribel’s meals. We had a wonderful time.

The fish that we saw were gorgeous! And we saw many other amazing creatures! I am very thankful that I got to come and have an amazing week with y’all! I hope we get to sail with you again next Christmas!
